Plus, if it's an EGS exclusive, dollars to doughnuts it'll only be an exclusive for a year.

That's the way I make sense of the canon timeline, so I expect it could be stretched to the numbers in the original vision for HW2.

(Plus anyone who was like ZOMG! The fucking Beast-slayers! And joined the Hiigarans because of that) So, instead of thinking of it as a breeding population of 500-600k, reasonable breeding rates, now solve for time, think of it like the Hiigarans swallowed up huge portions of disaffected Taiidan as well as however goddamn many survivors of the Gardens of Kadesh there were, after they went back and told them they had defeated the Great Evil, and everyone assimilated relatively painlessly, for the Taiidani because these were the ones that were really disheartened by the warcrimes that were broadcast all over the Empire, but didn't want to join the Taiidan Republic, and for the Kadeshi because these were effectively the heroes of legend that defeated their civilisation's existential threat, and they shared common ancestry with. Unless the Hiigarans were absorbing disaffected Taiidan, surviving Kadeshi, and anyone else that turned up to Hiigara in a rusted-out old garbage scow, then there's no way that <600,000 (combat casualties are a thing, and while I think it's canon that the Kushan saved at least five cryotrays, I can't remember if they canonically saved the sixth) people on a world that they'd be spending the first decade or so trying desperately to stop its infrastructure from destroying itself - from keeping ovens left on by the departing Taiidan from burning down entire cities to stopping civilian city-powering reactors from going critical (and Homeworld uses sci-fi massively explosive fusion, remember) to disarming boobytraps left by hardliners - of basically humans bred to the point that after months of bombardment they still had over 180 million people left, in roughly a century. Worst case scenario it's just a 'hw 20th anniversary sale' but let's hope it's something moreĬlick to shrink.Well the existing Homeworld 2 already has the surviving Kushan breeding at a rate closer to that of rabbits than that of humans, and that's using the post-Siege numbers from the final mission. BBI are currently working on 4 games, atleast one of which has been said to be an RTS and with it being 2-3 years since DOK released we could have a good timeframe for them to have made a new HW game. Weather it's homeworld 3, Deserts of Kharak 2, Catacylsm Remastered or something else i'm very much excited. So this could be nothing, but i'm hoping they're hinting at a new game.
